Mehria Nasiri
Mehria Nasiri is a champion in education promotion in Afghanistan's challenging context.
A master in Pedagogy, Ms. Mehria has extensive experience in supporting and implementing projects and programs in the field of Education in Afghanistan. Starting as a mathematics teacher in Kabul's Zarghona High School for girls in the 1980s, she has moved on to deliver teacher training to in-service teachers, led the development of curricula for mathematics for the Afghan public schools, and has delivered several trainers of trainers (ToT) workshops. Ms. Mehria has also delivered several trainings on other pertinent matters to circumstances in Afghanistan including training on gender rights, human rights, and peacebuilding. She is also well experienced in the monitoring and evaluations of education development programs and works closely with the Afghan civil society to promote and support women's education and development.
Juma Khan Bashiri
Juma Khan Bashiri is an experienced professional that continues to support the education sector in Afghanistan.
Hailing from western Farah province of Afghanistan, Mr. Bashiri is a long-time supporter of education and development in Afghanistan. He has worked on managing several educational support programs for UNO, the Ministry of Education, and other national organizations in Afghanistan. In addition to the field education, Mr. Bashiri has produced and delivered training programs on counter-narcotics and their impact on youth and children. His other professional activities include involvement with various USAID and UN-funded programs in Afghanistan. He has delivered several trainings including those on social mobilization, community engagement, teacher training, law and communication, administration, and support to projects promoting education in Afghanistan.
Saida Ataye
Saida Ataye is a leading professional and advocate for women development in Afghanistan'
Born in Bamiyan province of Afghanistan, Ms. Ataye has lived and worked in Kabul promoting women empowerment and development through government and nongovernment organizations. In her recent job as the Senior Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Specialist at the Administrative Office of the President, Ms. Ataye actively supported engagement of women owned private businesses in public investment opportunities. She has also been a lecturer in private universities teaching political science, philosophy and western history. Ms. Ataye has also delivered several training on gender issues and reduction of violence against women and minorities. Ms. Ataye holds a Master in International Women Studies from Ehwa University in South Korea. She is a fluent speaker of Dari, Pashtu, Korean and English languages. Dedicated to women and youth development, Ms. Ataye brings deep understanding of women issues in Afghanistan and her international education to support and promote women and youth development in Afghanistan's challenging context.
Ghulam Rasol Haris
Ghulam Rasol Haris is a leading figure in Afghanistan's civil society circles.
Born in Afghanistan's northern Samangan province, Mr. Haris has extensive experience promoting development and supporting education programs and projects in Afghanistan. Working with the previous government of Afghanistan, Mr. Haris served as Head of the Irrigation Department where he promoted irrigation canals and water management in Samangan province. He also leads the Khurram & Sarbagh Construction Organization (KSC) as the Managing Director. He has implemented several projects involving school construction in Kabul, Logar, Nangarhar, Parwan, and Samangan provinces of Afghanistan. He is well familiar with donors who support the education sector of Afghanistan including UN agencies such as UNWFP, UNOCHA, UNOPS, UNHCR, and UN-HABITAT. He has also managed USAID grants to support schools and education programs in Afghanistan. Mr. Haris also brings experience, network and support to SEPA.
Abdul Hamid Ghafoory
Abdul Hamid Ghafori is also a leading professional in the Education sector in Afghanistan.
Mr. Ghafori is a Master Teacher Trainer who has 20+ years of professional experience in teaching, education, and managing educational projects in Afghanistan. He has worked extensively with government and nongovernment organizations in Afghanistan promoting education for all especially women and girls. He managed and monitored education projects with the University of Nebraska's projects in Afghanistan, trained teachers on how to teach in schools, supported the development of a student-centric curriculum, and facilitated access to education for women and minority groups. Mr. Ghafori is bilingual and able to speak, read, and write in Pashtu and Dari languages. He brings extensive knowledge, experience, and network to SEPA.
